Then the dust is removed and dowels are hammered into the holes. The skirting board is placed against the wall and the marks made are transferred to it. Then the holes are drilled. The heads of the screws or nails must be completely immersed in the plank. To do this, make notches with a drill bit of large size.

The last step is fixing the baseboard to the wall with nails. The nails are covered with stoppers that match the color. The plugs can be glued for a more secure attachment. Mounted slats are already adjusted to the right size. They are usually cut with a sharp knife or hacksaw, so they do not crack. In this case the sharp corners are preserved. Also, when cutting the edge strips, take into account that the plugs will take 3-5 millimeters. If a professional uses connectors, he installs them before fixing.
