Flooring installation
Measuring the area of the room, choosing the flooring that you like best is only a small fraction of the work that your handyman will have to do.

All of the floor coverings on the markets and in construction stores today have different properties and characteristics. Some are water-resistant and can be used in the kitchen and bathroom, while others require delicate care and are suitable only for living rooms. Modern floor coverings are made of a wide variety of materials: wood, natural and artificial stone, plastic, rubber and cork. Do not forget about the carpeting as well.
A wide choice means a wide range of possibilities - you can now find a suitable floor covering within any budget and for any purpose. Budget ones include linoleum and laminate, as well as some types of carpet. Synthetic stone and wood will cost more, and floor coverings made of natural stone and precious wood are usually in the premium class. This division, however, is arbitrary, as it all depends on the manufacturer and the technology involved in the manufacturing process.
Linoleum
We, like you, would think that linoleum is the most common floor covering — its practicality and low price make it very popular. However, it is. Modern technology allows you to create linoleum with very impressive patterns, copying in detail wood or tile. Some people think that linoleum looks cheap, but this is true only for the most inexpensive types.
Carpeting
It is a rolled carpet made of natural or artificial fibers. It consists of several layers — latex padding, backing and pile. Sometimes a third felt layer is added - such coverings are thicker and softer, and it is more pleasant to walk on them. Carpeting provides good sound and heat insulation, as well as a variety of design options.
Parquet
This is a truly elite and quite expensive flooring. Parquet flooring consists of three layers, namely: the bottom and middle — from coniferous wood, and the surface - from a thin veneer of valuable wood species — beech, oak, walnut and others. This is a relatively inexpensive version of the flooring, although some types, especially those decorated with expensive wood, can cost a lot. Its service life is up to 20 years, of course, with proper care. Parquet flooring is laid on the polyethylene gasket, glued and not glued method. Both methods require special knowledge and skills.
Laminate or laminate flooring
There is a reason why the well-known laminate flooring is so competitive with linoleum. Even the most budget brands of laminate look good, and medium-class laminated flooring so faithfully imitates wood that many can not tell it from a real solid board. Laminate is an HDF board with a layer of moisture protection film. On top of the board is laid a decorative layer of paper with a pattern, and to protect against damage, each floorboard is covered with a laminating film — a very durable material that can withstand quite strong stress.
Influent floors
So-called "poured" floors are made of epoxy resin, cement-acrylic substances and other materials. Preparation of the base for poured floors includes many steps, so it is better to entrust the entire process to professionals. But the laying itself is quite simple — the mixture is simply poured on the floor and, if necessary, smoothed with a trowel. It is recommended to start using it not earlier than five days later.
